Helicopter Flight Simulator

Helicopter Pilot.

Captain the helicopter flight simulator to an offshore platform or ship and land. Or cruise the harbour and beach and try hovering.

Note: Minimum age limit of 18 years applies to this flight.

This helicopter flight is the ultimate experience in a full motion multi-million dollar flight simulator.

Not for the faint-hearted!

You’ll have a mission and simulator briefing, then take-off and fly over water to an off shore platform and land on the raised helipad. It’s a small area.

Or you can tame it down to general flying, circuits and learning how to handle the helicopter and try hovering. (Hovering takes hours of practise in real life training, so are you up for the challenge).

There is limited availability for this simulator and there are only 2 sessions a week which may be early mornings or evenings.

Location: Our Sydney flight simulators are open for public flights through Flight Rush Sydney in Marrickville as part of Flight Simulation Centres and easily accessible from the Sydney CBD and surrounding areas by car, bus, train, or metro. Flight Rush is about 12 minutes by train from Town Hall station.

Airport: If flying in to Sydney we are about 15 minutes by car or taxi from Sydney airport. There is a bus from the airport to Mascot station (either 420 Burwood to Mascot Station from Domestic and International Terminals, or 350 Sydney Domestic to Bondi Junction), then change to bus 358 (Randwick to Sydendam) near Qantas head office in Coward St Mascot to Sydenham station. FlightRush is about 10-15 minutes walk from there.

By Train or Metro: The closest rail and Metro station is Sydenham. FlightRush is about 10-15 minutes walk from there. Note: Marrickville station and line is currently closed for upgrades to the new Metro system.

By Bus: From the city catch bus 430 Martin Place to Sydenham; or 423 Martin Place to Kingsgrove; or 426 Martin Place to Dulwich Hill. Get off at the closest stop to Marrickville Road, and it’s about a 5 minute walk from there.

By Road: Flight Rush is located just off Marrickville Road at the Sydenham end, about 15 minutes drive from The Grounds of Alexandria. There is also a bike path past the building.

Parking: Car parking can be tricky during the week at times. There are limited parking spots available on Maude Street beside the building. Note: There are No Parking and timed parking on some streets so check street signs for 2 hour restrictions.

Current pricing starts at $176 for 45 minutes in our developmental helicopter simulator, through all the way to $561 for our “Try The Lot” flying 3 simulators package all on the same day.

What aircraft can I pilot in your Sydney simulators?

You can be the pilot and fly any of our flight simulators. Minimum age of 12 applies, unless coordinated and approved (refer to Terms and Conditions).

Simulators available are airliners (based on 737, Airbus A320/321), fighter jets F/A-18 Super Hornet, helicopters R22, and light aircraft simulators (Cessna, Piper, Beech, Mooney, Cirrus, Aero Commander with a variety of single and multi-engine options).

Do I need any flying experience to fly a Sydney flight simulator?

No, you don’t need any flying experience to fly a Sydney flight simulator with Flight Rush.

We have experienced instructors who will provide a short briefing and guide you through your flight. It is important to listen to and follow instructions, and be smooth with the controls.

What should I expect when I arrive at the Sydney location?

What to expect when you arrive at our Sydney flight simulator location.

We will post details on the front door relevant to the day. You may have a short wait while we complete the previous session. Seating is available in the courtyard at the front entrance. We will greet you as soon as we can.

We operate on a fairly tight schedule and stay as close to session start and finish times as we can. Please arrive on time to be ready to commence your simulator session at the scheduled time.

You will be in a unique simulation centre that is not available anywhere else in Australia (or maybe the world).

What should I bring on the day of my Sydney simulator experience?

On the day of your Sydney simulator experience you should bring your booking, voucher or gift card details and provide them to the instructor.

Bring along one or two observers to watch your flight. Additional persons require prior approval and are subject to space available on the day.

Bring a camera, video, or your mobile phone to take photos and videos.

Bring a sense of adventure and a smile. And have fun!!
